I've seen the sun coming up, and ushering in a lovely day, twice in a row. Unfortunately the lack of adequate sleep that's hinted at by the fact of being up in time for dawn has hindered our ability to make the most of these days. Yesterday we had to take naps. Today that wasn't possible because it was a busy day. We went to church this morning because one of our friend Cherub's sons was making his First Communion, followed by a festive lunch in the gymnasium. It was a lovely occasion, slightly marred by my having a coughing attack so intense that I had to leave the building and hang out on the lawn until it subsided. When I finally went back in, I couldn't sing for fear of aggravating my throat again. Other than that, it was fun.

We hustled home so I could prep for the potluck to occur later in another location. I made a big pot of spaghetti with meat sauce, enhanced with more tomatoes, onions, red peppers, and smoked sausage. I also made some Waldorf salad, because we happened to have all the ingredients on hand, and I thought I might as well. We lugged it all over to the potluck where we had a good time visiting but were exhausted. I hope we sleep tonight, because I'm getting loopy with exhaustion, while still managing to not get anything done. We now have three potential dinners' worth of leftovers in the refrigerator, so I hope I won't have to do any more cooking for a couple of days.
