So, in advance of tomorrow's meeting, we are now receiving CYA emails from the social worker and the nurse manager, wreathing this entire episode in a thicker fog of confusion than ever. One beneficial point has been gleaned from them, however: the nurse manager now asserts that she never at any time suggested Mother would have to move from her current residence, nor that they could not care for her there. That certainly is a big relief. But it leaves one wondering just what the heck has been going on. I don't know. I don't really care, provided we can work out a good agreement for the future.

However, I must say this is the very last thing I want to do tomorrow. Particularly as I will have to get up at the crack of dawn to arrive by 10 am, and the nurse manager has informed us in advance that she has "a very narrow window" for tomorrow's meeting, so I can't be late. Also I happen to know that the eastbound interstate is down to one lane right where I have to be, so the traffic jam for the morning commute will be stupendous. I'll have to start earlier than ever so I can find my way around it. I would give almost anything to be on the far side of the world tomorrow morning. It will be difficult to resist taking the first exit for the airport and paying cash for the first flight out. Ah well . . . I hope by this time tomorrow we'll be at home eating cake in honor of the solstice. And since it will be the longest day of the year, our chances of being home by dark are excellent.

Interesting facts learned in dreams: a "loop artifact" is an object that appears after time travel that wasn't there before.
