Since I won't be at Readercon this year, I'm planning a little opening ceremony of my own, with a dry rye Manhattan of better quality than has ever been available with a drink chit, even when they used to give out drink chits, plus some baked goods. (Let me just add that raspberry jam from a jelly doughnut, mingled with rye whisky, is an unusual but delicious pairing.) Meet the Pros won't be till tomorrow night, of course, but since I'm in charge of the IsmoCon programming, I can do what I like. The Sparrowhawk and I will then do some two-person panels, and that will be the first time (trust me on this) that I've ever drunkpaneled, because by then I'm guessing I will be turnt AF as they say these days. He'll have to be the moderator. I'll drink a toast to absent friends, especially to the artists formerly known as the Del Rey Kids, and to my Nameless ones--you know who you are.
