We finally got to see "Mission Impossible: Fallout" today! I came home from therapy, and we took our popcorn bucket and dashed off to the theater. It's weird seeing a movie before noon. You come out and it's all bright and sunny, instead of evening, which is when right-thinking people go to the movies. I don't know what's going on with Movie Pass. I'm thinking it may be a scam that is not long for this world, but so far, we've made our ten bucks back, plus five. If we get another movie or two in before the end of the month, we'll be fairly happy with the deal. The movie was exciting and fun, although I started getting bored before it ended, and we figured out all the things that I think were supposed to be surprises. The moral is kind of the opposite from LotR: always kill the bad guy immediately. Don't ever let him live. At least, that's one of the morals. The attempt to give Ethan a back story where women love him because he's such a wonderful, caring person is just silly. He's not there to be a wonderful person, anyway. He's there to run very fast and blow things up/prevent things from blowing up, depending. I'd love to have his super powers of speed and indestructibility. But I would not like to be the real life Tom Cruise and have to faux-marry people so I could fake not being gay--oo! maybe the way the character is always disguising himself with lifelike masks is supposed to be a cunning metaphor?--and I would also not like to have David Miscavige as my bestie. No thank you.

I only had five hours of sleep last night. Not enough. Still thrashing away at those demons with my little stick. Speaking of demons, oh frabjous day, the demon poison ivy vine is finally starting to die after being dosed repeatedly with killer chemicals. As William Blake said, "In the morning glad I see;/My foe outstretched beneath the tree." Well, technically it's still ON the tree, but it's losing its grip.

YES. And that bit about "you'll always be there to save us"? NOPE. One day soon, he will not be able to run fast enough or he will blow out his knee or rupture a tendon and THE WORLD WILL END.
