I forgot to take my hemp oil again. Sigh. Things I've been eating don't agree with me, and hemp oil didn't seem appetizing. I didn't get out of the house today even when the damp wore off, because I was obsessively re-writing my query letter. I did actually mail it to another potential agent.

I was haunted for three days by Bruce Springsteen's "Atlantic City." In fact, one night it was playing on my brain radio when I went to sleep, and when I woke up an hour later, it was still Atlantic City. I really wish I understood how that worked. This morning, it went away, and was replaced by "Long Black Veil" (the Johnny Cash version). So my soundtrack went from the story of a petty criminal who isn't even good at crime, to a guy who dies stoically for a crime he didn't even commit. I wonder what that's all about.

I remember when "Nebraska" first came out, and I loved it on sight, although it made me cry so much.

The Sparrowhawk doesn't go to the dark side. My discussion of the current brain worm led by a circuitous route to his playing "I Would Do Anything For Love" by Meat Loaf on his iPad. He turned to me with a smile and said fondly, "Without you, I would never have listened to Meal Loaf!" This is how you roll when you're retired--get up in the morning, go all cosmic, write query letters and listen to Meat Loaf in your underwear/One full of love, the other of despair. It could be a filk if I were more ambitious. The Sparrowhawk finds a reason to believe even at the beginning of the day.
