Peacock of Flourish
Sep. 6th, 2018 10:40 pmAnother night of 5 1/2 hours of sleep. I'm surprisingly chipper, considering. Yesterday, the Sparrowhawk was considering mowing the lawn. I pointed out that yesterday, it was 87 degrees out and felt like 93, whereas today, it was supposed to be in the 70s. So he mowed the lawn today instead, while I took a walk. Tonight, the public museum was having an amateur astronomy night, and we decided to go. We enjoyed a glass of wine, a planetarium show, and then went outside where they had set up some telescopes. Alas, the cooler weather brought clouds with it, and although we waited anxiously for some time after sunset, we were never able to actually observe anything. There was a point at which one astronomer thought he'd spotted a planet. But he aimed his laser pointer at it, and it bounced off. It turned out to be a light atop a distant construction crane. We finally gave up and came home.
