We're so happy to have the Diva's family here with us instead of in the middle of the hurricane. I think they're happy to be here, too. It's quiet and peaceful here, and there are lights and water and a comfy bed, and everything you need. I found out that Muffinhead has started learning piano, along with several other instruments, and just listening to him noodling around on our piano was very enjoyable. He's talented. After lunch, the Diva wanted to take the boys shopping for some clothes, so I drove them over to the mall. The idea was to take advantage of clearance sales at Old Navy. The Diva and Angelbaby found a lot of clothes, but Muffinhead is so tall and lanky now that all the pants that are long enough for his legs are too big around the middle. So after Old Navy, I drove them to Target. Driving around malls and hanging out in stores for hours is a serious sign of my love and devotion. Muffinhead still couldn't find any pants he liked, so he's going to try shopping online. I wondered why I was feeling so wobbly, and then realized I hadn't had anything to eat and it was two o'clock already. A cup of strong coffee and a sandwich fixed me up.

For dinner, we got take-out from a barbecue place Kansas had seen on TV and wanted to try, and it was good! The sauce was southern style, the sweet and tangy kind, with vinegar. I like Kansas City style best myself, but this was really good too. After dinner, we watched "Isle of Dogs," which was great and very dramatic yet comical in an off-kilter way, in that typical Wes Anderson style, with amazing animation.
