BlackGuillemot of Leave
Oct. 14th, 2019 08:58 pmI shouldn't be so doubtful. We actually had a great time--sitting on the deck of the beach house looking out at the cold blue waves sparkling with sunshine, a delightful afternoon hiking some of our old favorite haunts, and dinner at our current favorite strange little restaurant, returning to the motel just in time to watch the sunset from our veranda. The swimming pool was still open, and I was bound and determined that I was going to get into it, but I was almost too tired. My legs had just about stopped moving at the end of the hike, and I wasn't sure I could have walked another step! But I really couldn't pass up a dip on what was probably the final weekend of the year, so we suited up and scampered down the walkway in the 45 degree wind. The pool was supposedly 84 degrees, but it was not warm! I swam up and down a couple of times, and then moved to the spa, which was wonderfully warm. Submerging up to the neck, watching little wisps of steam blow across the surface, was just the thing for my achy joints. Now I'm very happy to be inside with a comfy bed, lamps, and warmth, thanks to the heating and cooling unit which has finally been fixed so it gently emits warm air without the ear-splitting clangor that was our fate the last couple of times we were here. I should record all the lovely sights of the day, but I'm too tired! Maybe tomorrow. . . .
oh, well, yknow: should
