A great day with lots of things to appreciate! I went for an early walk, and returned to find Tron and the Lumberjack getting up. They expressed their wish to help us do stuff while they were here. At first I couldn't think of anything for them to do, but before you know it, Tron was helping me weed my borders, and the Sparrowhawk got the Lumberjack to help him clean the shed. His long legs and strong arms were very useful for reaching things off high shelves and moving heavy items. They did a terrific job and the shed looks so much better and more usable now! Now that we can see everything that's in there, we'll be able to weed out even more things we can do without. And the Lumberjack put nails high up on the wall so we could hang up our kites out of harm's way. They're very decorative now.

It is HOT today, and we were all very sweaty after a couple of hours at work. We came inside for a rest and some ice water. Then Tron and I served as sous chefs for the Sparrowhawk. We chopped up things for a stir fry that had ALL the vegetables: onions, carrots, celery, peppers, peapods, and two kinds of mushrooms--nameko and king trumpets. The Sparrowhawk cooked the stir-fry and a filet of salmon and some rice. It was a magnificent meal, which we ate early so we could go and see "Booksmart." The movie was very funny and sweet, though it also made me sad for various complicated reasons.

Tomorrow they'll go to Canada to see the Lumberjack's family, and then come back for a few days over the Fourth. So good to see them!
