Cottontail of Shadow
Oct. 21st, 2020 10:24 pmOh, takeout--why do you always seem like such a good idea, but turn out to be so disappointing? I was planning to make pork roast tonight, but the meat wasn't totally thawed, and I just wasn't feeling it. So I suggested we get some takeout, and we decided on a local Asian place we've had good luck with. But when the food arrived, it tasted kind of tired, like leftovers. I didn't hate it, but it wasn't fun.
It was in the low 50s today. I tried sitting on the porch with the heater from the basement, but it doesn't make much of an impression. If I sit really close to it, my legs feel the warmth, but then I'm facing toward the wall instead of the outdoors, so there's really no point. It was not a successful experiment. I'll probably try it again in some other configuration, but I'm not sanguine. Just trying to stave off being shut up for the winter . . . .
I made no progress with my yard work, because when I wanted to go out, it was raining. I did laundry, put away the Sparrowhawk's clothes, did some bathroom cleaning, and called Queenie to check on her. She saw her doctor and is fine for the moment, but will have to have some corrective surgery. When I washed the masks, the ribbons for securing them unraveled. The Sparrowhawk is sending away for some more durable ones--since it seems this is going to go on FOREVER.
