Jun. 8th, 2024 09:27 pmThe day had its good points and its not so good. I didn't sleep well, my stomach is bothering me, and my blood pressure has been erratic. I woke up with a headache, and tried to decide whether I should take Advil because pain can raise your blood pressure, or whether I should not take it because NSAIDS can raise your blood pressure. I sometimes feel that all of modern medicine is like this. "Go not to the Elves for counsel, for they will answer both no and yes." I wasn't able to run around as I had planned, but I eventually took the Advil and felt slightly better.
We had a lunch date with one of Timothy's high school friends, who comes back from California to visit family every once in awhile. It was nice to see her. There was some kind of street fair going on, but we found a parking spot. I had been frustrated in my wish to visit the farmers market and see if the strawberries were in yet, but we stopped at the market across from the parking lot. They were just putting out some fresh early berries! Triumph! They are so delicious. Every year one remembers exactly why people like strawberries. I hulled the lot and put them in the refrigerator, except for the ones the Sparrowhawk ate. I had a short Zoom with Moonmoth and the Nonesuch. And then it started raining again, so I still didn't go out and do any yardwork. Rain at the end of the day is lovely and soothing, especially when it patters on the thick leaves of early summer.
